Science
It is, after all, why we’re all here.
I like science. I’m a bit geeky about it, to be honest. I strongly suspect I was very irritating as a student, asking what I fondly thought were difficult questions and not really understanding the answers as well as I imagined. (My apologies, Mr Jones and Mr Brock.) I enjoy teaching it and most of all, cliched as it is, I love seeing the look on a student’s face when they suddenly get it too.
My explanation of what science is – and isn’t – can be found now on the Philosophy of Science page. It’s not quite as poncey as it sounds.
My aim is that this page will mainly summarise some of the ideas, thoughts, approaches, lesson resources and so on I’ve found helpful when teaching science. We’ll see how useful they are for my colleagues, too. I’m currently producing three pages, but the only one live right now (and I should warn you, there’s not much on it) is Biology and Evolution.
For now, you could try clicking the ‘Science’ category on the right to see all blog posts with that label.
